The Fairmont Community Development Partnership (FCDP) is an independent
501 (c)3 nonprofit corporation dedicated to stabilizing and revitalizing
The roots of the FCDP go back to 1992
when the organization was incorporated. The vision of the organization
is to preserve Fairmont’s neighborhoods and to revitalize the community.
The organization has impacted community and economic development,
neighborhood revitalization, as well as the quantity and quality of affordable housing
available to the growing Fairmont population.
The term “Partnership” describes the approach that is core to the
organization. As a routine matter, working relationships are developed
with private investors, public organizations, and Fairmont’s resident
The majority of the organization's time and resources
have been dedicated to the Maple/Ogden/Jackson Addition Neighborhood and
more recently, the Virginia/Gaston Neighborhood.
In addition, the
redevelopment of Fairmont's Southside Neighborhood, adjacent to downtown,
has been a side bar project including the development of Traction Square.
The FCDP’s activities range from homeownership counseling and new
home construction, to the purchase & rehabilitation of homes and the
revitalization of commercial properties.

Strategic Partner. The Federal
Home Loan Bank, US Housing and Urban Development, USDA, WV Development Office, WV Housing
Development Fund, and the Marion County Commission have all been vital supporters of the FCDP.
