About Fairmont Community Development Partnership

Fairmont Community Development Partnership is proud to include the support of the USDA and the Marion County Commission.  Thank you for your support!

The Fairmont Community Development Partnership (FCDP) is an independent 501 (c)3 nonprofit corporation dedicated to stabilizing and revitalizing Fairmont’s neighborhoods.

The roots of the FCDP go back to 1992 when the organization was incorporated.  The vision of the organization is to preserve Fairmont’s neighborhoods and to revitalize the community.

The organization has impacted community and economic development, neighborhood revitalization, as well as the quantity and quality of affordable housing available to the growing Fairmont population.

The term “Partnership” describes the approach that is core to the organization.  As a routine matter, working relationships are developed with private investors, public organizations, and Fairmont’s resident population.

The majority of the organization's time and resources have been dedicated to the Maple/Ogden/Jackson Addition Neighborhood and more recently, the Virginia/Gaston Neighborhood.

In addition, the redevelopment of Fairmont's Southside Neighborhood, adjacent to downtown, has been a side bar project including the development of Traction Square.

The FCDP’s activities range from homeownership counseling and new home construction, to the purchase & rehabilitation of homes and the revitalization of commercial properties.

The Partnership is a NeighborWorks America Strategic Partner. The Federal Home Loan Bank, US Housing and Urban Development, USDA, WV Development Office, WV Housing Development Fund, and the Marion County Commission have all been vital supporters of the FCDP.
