For many families, navigating through the home buying process can be a complex, frustrating and intimidating. Many are unsure where to begin when buying a home and also face barriers which prevent them from attaining “the Dream”.
The FCDP has established an excellent success rate in "creating" homeowners by offering Credit Counseling, Debt Counseling, Second Mortgage Lending, Homeowner Rehab Lending, Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance, and Post-purchase Counseling.
Through continuing its mission, The FCDP continues to offer Home Ownership Opportunities as new homes are built as part of the Maple / Ogden Neighborhood Revitalization Project.
Income Guidelines
The FCDP helps individuals and families as they proceed through the home buying process – ultimately becoming homeowners – regardless of their income status.
Individuals and families with incomes which range within the 50% to 80% of the local median income may be eligible for financial assistance through the FCDP which can make the dream of Homeownership come true!

Individuals and families with income which exceeds the 80% of area median income, purchase homes at the market rate. For more information on mid-priced market rate home sales, see Windmill Village, a special housing project within the Maple/Ogden Avenue service area.
Homebuyers counseling is available to all families interested in ownership in the FCDP’s Maple/Ogden service area. Counseling and education services are tailored to individual needs. Topics typically cover budgeting, credit analysis, and mortgaging. The process is conducted in small groups or can be one-on-one with interested families and involves a discussion regarding family goals, and a review of housing options to meet family needs.
