Windmill Village
Windmill Village, Site # I (illustrated above), is an area where the FCDP is now focusing their new housing initiative. This area is located in the vicinity of Baltimore Street and the extension of Ogden Avenue which leads to the Windmill Park Entrance.
Windmill Village will be the place where Fairmont will address its need for Mid-Priced Housing. This venture will fill the gap created by the loss of housing surrendered for construction of the new Downtown I-79 Connector. The project will add income diversity to the Maple/Ogden/Jackson Addition area by providing both affordable and market rate housing.
The goal is to re-establish a community which will include diversity of incomes and social backgrounds, a community which will target young families, the elderly, the disabled and especially our veterans.
Special care is being given to making the neighborhood both walk-able and attractive by emphasizing sidewalks, streetscapes, and good-looking homes.
Finally, Windmill Village will provide quick access to downtown Fairmont and the I-79 Connector will make Windmill Village a great place to live, work and play. The easy commute to Clarksburg and Morgantown will make Windmill Village wide open to the area’s best job markets and business opportunities.
